Design & Process
Do you charge for kitchen designs?
I don’t charge an initial design fee if you purchase your kitchen through me. If you would like a design and plans only, I charge £240.
What does the design process involve?
I visit your home to assess the space, take measurements, and discuss your requirements, taking time to understand what you hope to achieve with your kitchen renovation.
How long does the design stage take?
I aim to book a return visit within a week of the initial consultation to present your design and costings.
Will you visit my home before designing?
Yes, that’s my preference. It helps me understand how you live in your home, so I can design a kitchen that works best for your lifestyle.
Can you work from architect’s plans or building drawings?
Absolutely. Planning the kitchen early on often gives you the chance to adjust window and door positions, saving on costly revisions later.
Pricing & Products
How much does a new kitchen typically cost?
It varies depending on kitchen size, door style, worktops, and appliances. As a guide, supply costs start from around £12,000. Building and renovation costs are quoted separately.
Do you offer itemised quotes?
Yes. I break my quotes down into furniture, worktops, appliances, electrical and lighting, and any other items we discuss. Renovation or installation quotes are discussed separately from the supply cost.
Are your kitchens more expensive than high street retailers?
No. I source my kitchens from a high-quality local manufacturer at competitive prices. Without showroom overheads, I’m often more affordable than national retailers, plus I offer a much more personal service.
Do you offer any discounts or promotions?
If a supplier runs a promotion, I pass it on. However, I keep pricing fair year-round rather than inflating prices to offer fake discounts, which is common practice in larger retailers.
Can I use my own appliances or worktops?
Yes, you’re welcome to source your own appliances or worktops if you prefer.
Supply & Installation
Do you supply kitchens or just design them?
I am a kitchen retailer, supplying quality cabinets, worktops, and appliances if required. I also offer a design-only service.
Who installs the kitchen?
I work with trusted, experienced fitters who I’ve built long-standing relationships with. I can also supply only if your builder is fitting the kitchen.
Can you manage the whole renovation, including building work?
Yes. I work closely with a network of trades to manage the whole kitchen renovation process if required.
What areas do you cover?
I cover Wiltshire, Somerset, and parts of Dorset.
How long does installation usually take?
Typically, around 2 weeks, provided the room is prepared (with plumbing and electrics ready). This includes stone worktop fitting.
Quality & Sourcing
Where are your kitchens made?
All my kitchens are made by an independent manufacturer based in Bristol.
What materials and finishes do you offer?
I offer a wide variety, from natural wood to high gloss. If you have something specific in mind, I’ll discuss options at our appointment.
Can I see samples before ordering?
Yes. I bring samples to the design consultation. For bespoke colours, we’ll get a sample swatch for approval before manufacturing.
Can I visit a showroom?
Yes. I can arrange a private appointment at my manufacturer’s showroom (not open to the general public).
What’s the difference between your kitchens and those from big chains?
My kitchens are high quality and competitively priced, but the biggest difference is the service. I offer a personal, end-to-end experience with no sales pressure. Read more about it here: Independent vs High Street Retailer.
Booking & Next Steps
What happens after the first meeting?
We book a second meeting to present your design and quote. From there, we tweak and finalise the design before placing the order.
How far in advance should I book a kitchen project?
The sooner, the better. I can work to a minimum of around 8 weeks but allowing longer gives more time to finalise details like colours and flooring.
Do you have a waiting list?
I typically can visit within a week. I intentionally limit the number of projects I take on to ensure every client gets my full attention.
Is the design fee refundable?
Yes. I can arrange a private appointment at my manufacturer’s showroom (not open to the general public).
